The Hard Truth About CPG Startups
CPG founders create an amazing product. Their customers love it. Sales are growing. So why do they feel like they are always one bad month away from a cash crisis?
In the CPG world, success can kill a founder even faster than failure. Every purchase order, new retail account, and viral TikTok moment demands more cash than is on hand. And traditional financial advice is geared toward established businesses or tech startups, not founders managing high growth, inventory, trade spend, and 90-day payment terms.

About Abby
A former public accounting consultant turned fractional CFO, Abby has guided CPG brands from startup to scale-up. She combines deep financial expertise with real-world experience, delivering insights that stick and strategies that work. Known for her engaging, approachable style, she makes complex financial concepts accessible and actionable for founders at every stage.
Abby spent 15 years in operational roles, which gave her a deep appreciation for transaction processing flows and user experience. After becoming a CPA, she spent several years at a multinational public accounting firm, with roles in audit, outsourced accounting, and technology implementation, receiving the coveted “Game Changer” designation numerous times. She started her own firm in 2023, focused solely on CPG. Two of her core values are growth and community, so she enjoys serving as Co-Chair of the Virtual Huddle committee for DFW CPG, as a mentor for the nation's leading CPG accelerator SKU, and on the Accounting Advisory Committee for Kilgore College.
