Do you look or leap first?
According to brain science, we make decisions based on emotion.
But which emotions lead the way for you?
Fear?
Or hope?
I like to say, "I tend to leap before I look."
That doesn't mean I never analyze any decision.
But I would argue that I don't OVER-analyze.
Leaving behind a stable and comfortable job was scary.
I made the decision without really considering how difficult certain aspects would be.
When it came time to announce my departure, I was already "in it".
There was no turning back.
I was betting on myself, and it was time to lay down my chips.
It was incredibly hard, but has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life so far.
Taking a leap FEELS risky, but there is HIDDEN risk in the status quo:
- Irrelevancy
- Stagnation
- Regret
People on their death bed tend to regret what they DIDN'T do.
Not what they did do.
Consider taking a leap.
(But don't consider it for too long.)
